Flute Demon from Demon Slayer

Flute Demon, the Tsuzumi Mansion Demon

Who is Flute Demon?

The Flute Demon was a malevolent entity with aspirations to ascend the ranks and become a member of the Twelve Kizuki, a group of the most powerful demons under Muzan Kibutsuji’s command in the “Demon Slayer” universe. His ambition led him to commit numerous atrocities, including the murder of several Demon Slayers and innocent civilians.

Physically, the Flute Demon presented as an old man with deeply wrinkled skin and exceptionally long, drooping eyebrows that slanted downwards. His eyes were elongated and slanted, with narrow, slit-like pupils, and his pointed teeth added to his snake-like visage.

He dressed in traditional Japanese attire, which included a flower-patterned kataginu, a type of sleeveless robe that was secured on one side with a white ribbon. Beneath this, he wore a long white kimono edged with a thick black border at the cuffs. His pants, resembling the sashibuki or nu-bakama worn by members of the Demon Slayer Corps, were long and black, and he completed his ensemble with a pair of geta, traditional Japanese footwear. His head was adorned with a sagging black Japanese cap, finished with a tassel at the end, contributing to his distinctive and ominous appearance.

Flute Demon’s Personality and Background

The Flute Demon was characterized by his malevolent nature and contempt for humans, which is a common trait among demons in the “Demon Slayer” series. He took a grim pleasure in showcasing the bodies of Demon Slayers he had slain, and he even taunted Kyojuro Rengoku, a prominent Demon Slayer, by suggesting that he was destined to die and join his deceased comrades.

His cruelty was further highlighted by his casual mention of having consumed five children, showing no remorse for his actions. He even made a macabre joke about one child who was still alive and paralyzed with fear in his presence. This demon’s arrogance was evident in his firm belief in his own power and his conviction that he was meant to be one of the Twelve Kizuki, the elite group of the most powerful demons serving directly under Muzan Kibutsuji, the primary antagonist of the series. His confidence in his abilities was unshaken, underscoring his dangerous and ruthless disposition.
