Who is Sumi Shinazugawa?
Sumi Shinazugawa was the younger sister of Sanemi and Genya Shinazugawa. She was petite with a light complexion. Sumi’s dark hair was styled in a low bun, with her bangs neatly clipped back. Her face was small, accentuated by large, round blue eyes, mirroring her mother’s appearance. She was often seen wearing a light red kimono complemented by an orange obi, which added to her youthful look.

Sumi was a beacon of warmth and compassion, much like her siblings. In moments of familial turmoil, especially during their father’s aggressive episodes, she shielded her youngest sibling, ensuring he was spared from witnessing the violence. Born to Kyogo and Shizu Shinazugawa, Sumi was one among seven siblings, with Sanemi and Genya being the eldest brothers. Their household was marred by the violent tendencies of their father. However, Sumi often found solace in her mother’s protective embrace, especially during her father’s outbursts. On a particularly ominous night, as Sumi and her siblings were nestled in sleep, Sanemi and Genya noticed their mother’s absence. Concerned, Sanemi ventured out to search for her, leaving Genya to watch over the younger ones. As dawn approached, Sumi’s anxiety grew, given that it was unlike their mother to be late. Genya tried to assuage her fears, urging her and the others to rest.
However, a sudden knock disrupted the quietude. Expecting their mother, Sumi, along with Hiroshi, Teiko, and Shuya, eagerly approached the door. But Genya, sensing an impending threat, cautioned them. His warnings came too late. The door burst open to reveal their mother, now transformed into a demon. In the ensuing chaos, Sumi met a tragic end.
