Who is Temple Demon?
The Temple Demon holds the grim distinction of being the first demon that Tanjiro Kamado confronts who has claimed human lives. This demon’s physical form is characterized by a robust build and an average stature. His skin is an ashen gray, marked by dual green bands encircling his upper limbs and thighs. His hair, a dark shade of green, is styled in a spiky manner, parting at the center of his forehead, further accentuating his demonic nature which includes pronounced fangs and talon-like nails.
In terms of attire, the Temple Demon dons a sleeveless blue tunic, which is adorned with a pattern in shades of dark turquoise and white that traces the contours of his chest. Accessories include pale bracelets that encircle both his wrists and ankles, adding to his distinct appearance.
A notable transformation occurs when Nezuko Kamado, Tanjiro’s sister, forcibly decapitates the demon. This demon also exhibited a sense of arrogance, particularly in combat against Tanjiro. He boasted about his regenerative abilities, a common trait among demons, which allowed him to swiftly recover from an assault to his chin. This overconfidence, however, did not deter Tanjiro’s resolve.
The Temple Demon’s reign of terror was marked by a series of disappearances of travelers seeking refuge at the temple hut on the route to Mount Sagiri. The local villagers were aware of the danger, warning Tanjiro of the peril that lay in traveling at night, hinting at the demon’s presence and the threat he posed to any unwary passerby.
