Contender 1: Tanjiro Kamado
Appearance: Tanjiro is a young boy with reddish-brown hair, which he ties back into a ponytail, and large, kind-looking burgundy eyes. He dons a checkered haori over his standard demon slayer uniform.
Strengths: Tanjiro possesses a keen sense of smell, which allows him to detect demons and even discern the emotions of others. He’s also trained in the Water Breathing techniques and later learns the Hinokami Kagura (Dance of the Fire God).
Weaknesses: Tanjiro’s compassionate nature can sometimes be a hindrance in battle, especially against foes who exploit emotions. Supernatural & Fighting Abilities: Apart from his swordsmanship, Tanjiro can use various Water Breathing techniques, which are powerful forms of combat. His Hinokami Kagura enhances his abilities, allowing him to harness the power of flames.
Contender 2: Gyutaro
Appearance: Gyutaro is a tall, fairly muscular demon with a pale grayish complexion dotted with black spots. His upper body is robust, contrasting with his incredibly skinny waist. He has thin, green, and red eyes with the characters for “Upper Rank” and “Six” carved across them. His black hair transitions to lime green around the crown, and his face features water-like patterns.
Strengths: Gyutaro is cruel, ruthless, and envious, making him a formidable opponent. His experience spans over a century, having faced numerous demon slayers.
Weaknesses: His arrogance and underestimation of his opponents can be his downfall.
Supernatural & Fighting Abilities: Gyutaro possesses the ability to manipulate his blood, creating sharp sickle-shaped blades. He’s also immune to death by decapitation unless both he and his sister Daki’s heads are severed simultaneously. His combat style revolves around using his flesh Kama, and he’s known for his immense speed, strength, and durability.
Tanjiro vs Gyutaro: Battle Rounds
Round 1: The battle kicks off with Tanjiro employing his Water Breathing techniques, trying to find an opening. Gyutaro, with his immense speed, dodges and retaliates with his blood sickles. The round ends with both contenders assessing each other’s strengths.
